Truth or Lie

“Truth has a powerful way of interrupting our runaway feelings if only we’ll get it in front of us.” ~ Lysa Terkeust “The Best Yes”

Truth… What is “Truth“? “Truth” can be defined as “the quality or state of being true; that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality; a fact or belief that is accepted as true.”

Have you ever thought something to be true, and even wanted it to be true, but slowly, you come to realize that perhaps it is not at all truth? What shook your knowledge of said truth? What changed your belief? How is it that you were wrong – did you really believe a lie?

Lie can be defined “as an intentionally false statement; used with reference to a situation involving deception or founded on a mistaken impression.”

Sometimes we can mistake a lie for truth. Sometimes we deceive ourselves… And by “we” I most assuredly mean “me.” At the current, I fear that I am unable to differentiate the truth from the lie… I don’t even know my feelings! This, I suppose, is where prayer comes into play. I must separate myself from the equation, so that truth might prevail. Because, it’s not about “I” or “me.”

But hasn’t truth been there all along? Let me accept truth as truth. For truth certainly has a “powerful way of interrupting runaway/silly/baseless/you name it feelings/emotions if only we’ll accept/get truth to be at the forefront of the way we conduct lives.” And by “we” I am referring, wholeheartedly, to “me.”
