Get Up!

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to get up! Yet, all day a voice in my head keeps reminding me, Jessy, you have to get up! I didn’t want to get out out of bed this morning – but I remembered a promise I made… Get Up! Things didn’t quite go my way, at all today, I slipped. I stumbled. I ruined everything! I complained… Get Up! Get back in line. Correct what was wrong. Continue on. Just, GET UP! I didn’t want to, but I got up… Each time, I got up… I lost count how many times I had to get up… Do you ever have days like that?

He never promised that the cross we carry would not become heavy. He never promised that our days would be easy, rosy, everyday. I would love to float around on Cloud 9 everyday – this simply is not so… Even when we are not on the hilltop, we can look to the hills from whenst cometh our help, where does our help come from? Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of the heavens and the earth. When we look up, not only do we raise our eyes, but our heads. Soon, through no will of our own, we have no choice but to get up! It doesn’t matter what the situation, or how awful the circumstance in which you find yourself surrounded, when you look up, you find yourself getting up! You simply can’t stay down. 

Allow me to encourage you, as I encourage myself, somedays are tough, those days won’t last. But when they are here, look up, get up! Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning! And you’ll be so ready to GET UP!
