Sometimes I Forget

I made a vow, which I intend to keep, a promise between just You and me. A vow to love You with all my heart. A promise to never place another first. I promised to surrender my will for Yours. I promised to follow You without question. For all the promises that I made, sometimes I fall short, because sometimes I forget…

When my problems seem so big and I feel so small, sometimes I forget that You are greater. When I have cried out all my tears into my pillows at night, I forget that You catch them all and You are close to my aching heart. When the storm rages on and I cannot find my way, sometimes I forget that You hide me in shelter of Your wings. When I feel lost and afraid, I forget that I am never alone, because Your love never fails me.

Sometimes I forget just who You are to me. I forget how much You love me. I forget how much You care. I forget how big Your nail scarred hands are, how broad Your shoulders and how much they can truly can bear. Yet, in the moments when I forget, I hear a still small voice reminding me: “This is the way, walk ye in it.” It reminds me still of Your love unconditional: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬
