Te Bendeciré

Te bendeciré por siempre… I will bless the Lord at all times…

This song has been at the top of my playlist, on repeat in both Spanish and English in my car and at home lately. It has been my lifeline. It has been a reminder that when things are going well, when they are not – I will bless the Lord.

Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in our emotions and forget to bless the Lord. It’s easy to forget how faithful He has been – how faithful He always is towards us, whether things are going well, or not.

Right now, I’m in what I will call a “detour.” It isn’t that easy, but I will bless the Lord in this. Today, as I was driving home… A 45 minute drive turned 2-hour, my kids’ step-siblings dad called me out of the blue, he never calls. Now, I can admit, it had been a very tearful drive home. In fact, before he called, I had just dried out, again. He gave me a few words of encouragement and before hanging up he said, “Sis, I want you to know that I love you and your kids. You guys are my family too.” I told him that I love him and his wife also and felt the same way, we’re family. I thanked him, hung up, and cried some more!

I didn’t know, he couldn’t have known, that I needed to hear those words at that moment.

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians‬ ‭4:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Along with blessing the Lord at all times, I am learning to be content no matter what state I find myself in. So, as I find myself in this detour, or when things are well, whether I have or I have not… I will be content. In this life, we are going to go through so much! I have already been through so much and I have a lot more living to do… No matter where life finds, I must be content in knowing that God is in control. Not only that, I will bless the Lord at all times… Te bendeciré por siempre…

  1. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

That’s the one that keeps me grateful and blessing HIM when I don’t understand why HE makes me take a “detour” like you put it so “on point“ -pardon my French 😉, I really enjoyed this!
I feel the same way and I will definitely check out “your” song and brush up my Spanish…
    GOD bless you my sister!

    1. Yes! Great verse! We don’t always understand when we are in the midst of our “detour” but everything has a purpose! I will remember 1 Thessalonians 5:18, thank you! God bless, sis!
