“But God who never changes cannot change His mind.” James Thomas Lee Jr
I absolutely love this quote. Sometimes, I think I forget this simple truth more than I care to admit.
People change their mind. I change my mind. But God cannot change His mind. Period.
Of a truth, God does not change.
The weather changes, the seasons change, fashion trends change, people change, my taste has even changed as I have gotten older – haha! But, God does not change…
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8 KJV
I know a couple, lovely couple, who taught me so much – decided to take a different approach – We tried God, now we’re trying something else.
What prompted the change? Did something happen? Do you want to talk about it? You’re so funny!
I’m still confused.
God does not change. People do.
We decide to turn and walk away when what He has to offer doesn’t fit the mold of the environment surrounding us – I guess? But, we’re not supposed to be this way.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV
One thing I have learned is to learn of Him. The more I learn of God, I find my foundation becoming more solid. No longer am I she, who built her house on sand – that when the storms of life came – as they have a habit of doing – my home did not blow down (Matthew 7:24-27 paraphrased).
My hair may change, along with my ever fluctuating weight, my exercise/eating habits need a bit of a change… Still, one thing remains, that I aim to maintain: my faith in Christ, because He has not and will not change.

I think sometimes the organization of ‘religion’ drives people away from the organization. But God is ever present no matter our location. He is always here.

I wish this was the case – just the leaving of an “organization” or “religion.”

Yes, Jessy. Some people walk away from God. I am thankful He is a forgiving God and remains waiting for us to find our way back to Him.
