My Hope…

No parent should have to bury a child. No wife should have to bury her husband.

This has been quite the week. My heart is so heavy.

I’m a parent, no longer a wife. Still, I cannot fathom the loss of a child or a spouse.

A friend of mine has lost her husband. And news reports tell of the losses of two teens. Both hit so close to home.

Any loss, expected or unexpected, hits you in such a way that you have no way of knowing how you will cope.

Living in a time of COVID-19, protests, racial tensions, underage drinking/intoxication, and the list goes on, I have to remember that we have a Savior. I have to remember that our hope is in Jesus Christ. Though things may appear dark and bleak, the outlook is bright because Jesus is the light of the world.

  1. Life doesn’t always make sense, nor does it seem fair. Loss always leaves us with questions we can’t really answer. But you are so right – without the living hope we have, none of this would ever make sense or seem surmountable. I’m so sorry for you loss, but so glad you know where to find comfort.
