One of the last meetings I attended at work focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion. The facilitator showed us a “diversity wheel” and requested that we each share something we identify as that we are okay with sharing. A couple shared Christian, some shared their political preference, others shared gender, national origin, etc… I was surprised when one shared, witch.
Now, I’m well aware that there are people who practice witchcraft, are pagan, don’t believe or are unsure if they believe in God. However, I had never witnessed someone so open about being a witch. I was speechless.
I know that there is nothing new under the sun… Since the beginning, there were sorcerers, magicians, those with familiar spirits, as the Bible tells us. Still, I can’t help but feel so sad and sorry about it all.
We are God’s creation. Created for Him, to worship Him, serve Him, love Him. I cannot imagine the heartache He must feel when people choose to serve Satan, darkness – on purpose.
We really are in a battle – wrestling not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
I pray for those who have gone astray. I pray that the light of Jesus shines into their lives and hearts while there is still a chance. God didn’t give up on me and I don’t believe He’ll give up on them, or anyone, either.
