Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. Proverbs 31:25 KJV
As a woman and mother, I find that each day I wake up, I have a choice. A choice in the clothing with which I adorn myself. Not just walking to my closet and picking out the outfit of the day, but clothing myself with the attributes of God.
This includes putting on the Armour of God, the fruit of the Spirit, strength and honor which can only come from God.
I went through a transitional phase, not too long ago, where I seemed to have forgotten who I was and who God created me to be, and what He created me to do. Honestly, along with not taking care of myself physically, I also neglected myself spiritually. I think that sometimes in our walk with Christ, especially when we go through challenging times, we forget, at least I sometimes do, who I am. Who Jesus says I am.
I realize the value of staying healthy, physically and spiritually. It’s important to don the things of God as much as I don a fresh set of clothes. It’s important to exercise our bodies as well as our faith and the gifts of the Spirit, in order to be healthy and whole before God.
I may not know just what clothing I’m going to wear each day, but I will be intentional about putting on the things of God, pleading the blood of Jesus and the name of Jesus over myself, my children and my home.
