I Give You, Me.

“Fasting is not so we can get more of God; we fast so God can get more of us.”

I read this quote today and let me tell you, it convicted me, inspired me, motivated me… See, I know that we need God, He doesn’t necessarily need us… But, how awesome is it that He chose us. He chose to send His Son, Jesus, to put on this corruptible flesh, live a sinless life, which He gave for you and me…

I don’t know that I ever really considered the power of the prayer: Lord, I give You, me… Sometimes I get so caught up in this life. Honestly, I don’t know anyone without a need. But to put all of that aside… every need, every desire, and just make it all about Him… I don’t do this nearly as often as I wish I did..

I’m learning to put my wants, desires, and needs aside and make about Him. I want to live my life in a way that pleases Him. I want to draw closer to Him. I want to love Him more… The only way I know to do this is to surrender and give myself, wholly, over to God.
