Falling Into Grace

Okay, okay… I know that we don’t exactly fall into grace. But, I feel as though I did and it has become so evident to me through this journey.

If you’ve been reading, you know that I moved across the country – into unknown, uncharted territory (for me). I live in a small town that is really just a speck on the map. Even some locals don’t know where this “Small Town USA” is located. In any case, we’ve been on a search for a home church. Honestly, this is not my favorite thing to do. I just want to be at home in a church already! We’ve met some really nice people. We stand out like sore thumbs in many of these churches, with our non-accents among other things.

One question I’m repeatedly asked is: Why “Small Town, USA?” Believe me, I wish I knew. It’s not what I would have chosen for myself, yet, it’s where God has us.

Through this journey, as well as conversations with people whom I have had the pleasure to meet, I have been reminded of where I’ve been, where I am, where I’m headed. I know that many have the testimony: “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side…” Psalm 124 KJV Still, looking back, this is my testimony.

Growing up in the church, I never knew of the grace of God. I mean, I had heard of it, but never truly experienced it. I don’t think that I’m the only one who has fallen into the grace of God. Let me tell you, it’s such a wonderful experience, more than a feeling, it’s a lifestyle.

God’s grace is sufficient for me. Because of His grace I can “take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:10 KJV

  1. God’s grace is the way of life. For me, personally, I rely on it all the time and maybe that’s why I’m still safe and sound…. It helps me take right decisions and give me hope that I’ll be able to take care of my parents and support them financially…

    1. I like that, “God’s grace is the way of life.” We must rely on it, as you stated and His grace is what gives me hope.
