Time

We seem to think we have all the time in the world, yet there’s never enough of it in the day. We hardly consider that last time will be the last time…

I recently found out that the dad of a young child with whom I supported at work has passed away. It was sudden, unexpected, tragic. Having a young child with a developmental disability and another on the way, I do ask your prayers for the young family.

There’s something about death, no matter how close it is to us, that prompts is to think about time.

I was particularly struck by the mom’s words: If I knew last time would have been the last time… She went on to voice regrets.

I am reminded, “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Proverbs 27:1 KJV

Tomorrow is not promised to us or those around us. We don’t have all the time in the world. Today is the day to make things right, let our lights shine, love…

  1. Indeed, tomorrow’s not promised, and yesterday can’t be relived! Today’s breath, and the moment we’re given. All we have, to hold dear! I know there pain, my daughter, was taken from us, a few months ago. And, we never saw it coming!
Father, I bring the needs of this family, to the foot of your heart. When two or three, you’re in the midst! May your peace, surround them. May your strength, hold them. May your grace, go before them. May your love, comfort them! In Jesus’ name, Amen! God’s blessings!

      1. No it was my own life lesson my aunt was tragically taken from us. A few days after her funeral my uncle passed away in his sleep they were married 34 years. One thing is certain that no one owns time. I saw him briefly after the funeral, however I had to leave. Unfortunately it was the last time I would see or hear from him.
