God Forgives

I felt like she just had to hear it: Don’t you know Jesus forgives? You don’t have to beg for it, He loves you and He forgives you. All we have to do is repent and change.

It took me years to learn that there is nothing that can separate me from the love of Christ. It took me far too long to realize that, yes, Jesus went to the cross for my sins too, no matter how small or great the offense, God forgives.

I cannot imagine what it must be like to be so young, separated from family, incarcerated, literally (because sometimes we are prisoners of our own minds) and tormented by our sins, our offenses, feeling so hopeless.

God forgives.

I recall some years ago, someone told me, God forgives. I have held onto that. I don’t know that I even believed it at the time, but I wanted to! It was my last piece of hope. It was my maybe. Just maybe I wasn’t too far gone. Just maybe there was still hope for me.

Friend, God forgives. He is grieved when we stay in sin, when we stay in our filth, in the muck and mire. He desires to pull us out and clean us up. He sent His only begotten Son to pay the price of our sins because of His grace, mercy.. Because of His great love. All because, God forgives.
