The Struggle

“Take courage my heart. Stay steadfast my soul. He’s in the waiting.”

Have you ever found yourself in a place where no matter where you turned the message that you saw, heard, read was a clear, WAIT.

And, if you have ever been here/there, you know that waiting is so much easier said than done. As the song lyric suggests, it takes courage – strength, to wait.

And, what are you waiting for?

Well, to be honest: 1. That’s likely between you and God. And, 2. It really doesn’t matter.

Of all my seasons of waiting, yes, that thing and/or situation for which I was waiting – I mean, of course, what a blessing! I am super thankful… However, there is something to be said of the process leading up to the blessing.

You know, it’s kind of like when you’re a child, and your parents just give you everything, you may have a propensity towards ungratefulness and a sense of entitlement, because money grows on the tree in our backyard. But, when you get your first first job, first car, first home, first bills… Well, things change. Drastically. You no longer have a propensity toward being ungrateful or entitled as you understand the value of a dollar, work ethic, and taking care of your stuff and thangs.

Every place I turn I hear, see, read the message “WAIT”. This is so much easier said than done. Where I am right now, I’m waiting. And this is proving to be

It’s the same with waiting. Yes, God can be like Nike and Just Do It. He can choose to just get us through our trials and tribulations, over our mountains, through our valleys, wildernesses, and oceans. And, sometimes, He does! Other times, He allows us to wait. He allows us to endure the wait and the struggle. Because as we’re in that place – of waiting, Jesus is able to work in us, on us and through us.

Also, there is something to be said about the way we go through the waiting process. While it may be tempting to grumble our way through and maybe even take matters into our own hands, this is not the way Christ intends for us. He never promised it would be easy, however we can find our rest in Him, especially in the waiting.
