Unlimited

I won’t say the cellular phone provider I subscribe to, but imagine my surprise, when my “unlimited” plan, was not truly “unlimited”. As many of you may have experienced over the course of the pandemic with teleworking and kiddos having to attend school virtually, internet usage skyrocketed. At least it did in my home on both our mobile phones and our home internet, when I thought we had “unlimited” plans.

Now, here’s the point of this entire post, but please keep reading, everything we could possibly need from God is unlimited. It doesn’t matter. Whether you need grace, love, mercy, kindness, forgiveness, a father, friend, brother – whatever you need, He gives/has in unlimited supply.

I was doing a family session last week and my teen client stated, to no one in particular, I try to pray. I just hope God forgives me. Both the mother and I validated her concern, Yes! Of course God forgives you. It’s who He is. It’s what He does. It’s why God gave His Son, Jesus. She didn’t fully buy it, she remained in a place of “hope”. “I hope He does forgive me.”

We limit God. We limit His grace, which is unlimited. I mean, realistically, we’re all subscribed to that “unlimited plan” of grace Jesus blood paid for. Yet, we continually live on the metered data plan.

I like the NLT version of Galatians 2:21 I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die.

Because Jesus died for us, offering us unlimited grace and mercy in the greatest display of love, we must choose to accept it.
