When it hurts – When your heart aches – When you don’t have the answers – When you feel lost – When it seems that all hope is lost – When it feels like all the world is against you –
You will not need to fight...
You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem! Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you. 2 Chronicles 20:17 NKJV
One thing I know for sure, God fights for His children.
I started this post many times. It has been sitting in my Drafts.. Then I read a post and recalled this draft…
You see, there are times when we are constantly under attack – at least it may feel that way. When I started this post, I had gone from issues with coworkers, to difficulties with clients, to harder times with families of clients, to personal health concerns.
In the midst of it all, I received almost daily reminders, from the unlikeliest sources, that God fights for me – for us. I was led to various scriptures, just when I was ready to give up. A song, or line of a song, or Bible verse would pop in my head, as though on repeat, especially in those times when I felt as though I couldn’t even utter a prayer. I was reminded daily – no, more than that, of how faithful God is. I was reminded that I don’t have to fight words with words, attitudes with attitude – rather, I could stand still, be kind, show love, watch God move in my situation.
In my situations, some things are not resolved. There are still some questions. Some situations were not necessarily resolved as I supposed they would be resolved. Still, I continue to experience God’s peace in the midst of the storm. His peace in the midst of chaos. His peace in the midst of pain. This peace is a peace that can only come from above. This peace is a peace that can only come when we stand still and allow Him to fight for us, to move on our behalf.
The greatest lesson I have learned in all of this is to stop relying on me and completely rely on Him.
You see, because Jesus lives, He fights for me. Because He lives, He has the victory. Because He lives we can stand still, we do not need to fight.
