There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1 KJV
I haven’t written in a week. I have spent the week in a state of condemnation. A place of feeling the need of abject perfection. Needing to get my house just right. As if that’s even possible when I have children, animals, and not to mention, we live here, like every day. Not just the usual eat and sleep here. We cook here. The kids are home schooled. I’m renovating the house. Still down sizing. We’re raising dogs, rabbits and chickens. And did I mention the home renovations. I mean the house is clean, but not clean clean. It’s lived it.
I just today, as in right now, this moment as I’m writing, at 9:36am CST, realized and accepted that I don’t have to live under the condemnation of having a show house. I live in a rural community, practically on a farm. This will never be a show house.
Condemnation is criticism, judgment, disapproval. It’s everything Jesus’s mercy and grace and compassion are not.
While I’ve not wanted to subject my children to religious condemnation or any condemnation. I realized, today, this moment, that I repeatedly place myself under condemnation of different types. Jesus came to give me, and you, liberty. To give us life and life more abundantly.
You know, sometimes I’m guilty of settling and being too accommodating, or on the flipside overworking and overdoing it as if making up the slack for, what/who, I don’t know, because God doesn’t need me to settle, nor does He need my help.
I’m wearing a shirt today that says: “Faith Over Fear“. When we exercise our faith in God over the fear in our lives, we don’t operate in the settling/accommodation or the overwork/overdoing it, because we know God’s got it and there is no room for any doubt or condemnation/judgement of ourselves or others or from others in the process.
And just like that, I’m back! And God has taught me a valuable lesson right on time for a long weekend! Be blessed and have a great weekend!

Hey y’all are living a similar life to us. Homeschool, chickens, and rabbits here! Along with outside cats and kittens. It is nice to come to terms with the fact that a lived in home filled with memories is better than a show home that will one day parish with the rest of this world. Good post!

Thanks Amy! We are feeding outside cats. They aren’t technically ours, but for all intensive purposes, they are haha. This is such a rewarding experience and way to live. I feel so relieved to let go and live.

Thank God for delivering us from the ‘superwoman’ syndrome. Perfectly imperfect and fully loved by a perfect Father. ❤️
