Better yet, Do you worship or glorify Jesus with that mouth?
You know I’ve heard people say, and even seen memes to the effect of: I love Jesus, but I cuss, or I have a dirty mouth..
Jesus tells us in Matthew 12:34 that the mouth speaks what the heart is full of… With this being the case, if we are indeed swearing/cursing/cussing (whatever word you want to use for it) this is what is in our hearts. God help us.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be. James 3:9-10 NIV
I’m convicted as I write this blog. How many times have a spoken against my brothers and sisters, despite the fact that they, too, are made in the image of God? It really does not matter how anyone looks, how negative someone’s attitude maybe, their socioeconomic standing, their background, creed, ethnicity, country of origin, etc… The thing is, we all are made in the image of God.
There is no excuse..
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21 NIV
I’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. I want to use my words to uplift, not tear down. I want to use my words to build, not destroy. I want to use my words to bring life, not death. This applies to myself, my situation, the lives of others, situations of others, on my job, in my family, in all that I do, with everyone I encounter.. I want to speak life.

When sharing Jesus we speak and share life-for he is life. Keep speaking life.

And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
