I was chatting with a friend the other night and he said something that struck me in a profound way. He said, Everything the devil has for you comes with a price. You end up trading something of value when you accept what the devil has for you in place of what God has for you.
You know, I’ve written on this topic before..
In Psalm 23:5a KJV, king David wrote: “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies…”
As I’ve said before, while God prepares a table for us, the enemy also prepares a table. We must beware what table we choose to eat from.
While I had never considered the implications of consuming what the enemy has for me; rather than what God has, looking back, I see that each time I chose the former, it came with a cost. While, I ultimately risked trading my salvation/soul, the immediate trade was typically felt fairly quickly and the impact was lasting.
When I chose to jump into the wrong relationships, rather than waiting for the man God was preparing for me, I traded my peace of mind. In some instances, my purity, my heart, my relationship with God. And for what? Divorce? Heart ache? Was it worth it? No. Not at all.
When I chose to jump at a certain career “because the money was 👌🏾” I traded my values, my virtue, my beliefs. I compromised in areas that I hadn’t thought, I was capable in compromising.
We must be cautious. We must not be willing to make any concessions or make any trades. The ultimate cost is our souls.
Allow me to encourage you today to not settle for anything that the enemy has to offer you. The price that you will undoubtedly pay, the trade you will most assuredly make, will not be worth it. Whatever the need or prayer, wait on the Lord. He hears your every prayers. God is faithful.

Settling, creates meddling, when others think you’re beholden to them, and not God’s divine providence!

Waiting on the Lord can be hard, but it is so important. In 1 Samuel 13, Saul grows impatient waiting for Samuel and does the sacrifice himself. It cost him his kingship.

Good morning, “Everything the devil has for you comes with a price. You end up trading something of value when you accept what the devil has for you in place of what God has for you.” We trade our soul the most valuable thing we have falling from the sinful influence of the devil. Thank you for sharing and have a great day. Mark 8:36-37 and Matthew 16:26-27
