It’s A Trap

“He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭10‬:‭8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

A stark warning from king Solomon. One that people of all ages must be aware of…

Anyone remember the old Loony Tunes episodes? Where the antagonist would dig a hole, cover it with leaves or something, then hide and wait expectantly for the protagonist to fall in? Only, the protagonist would pass over or around the hole unscathed? Then the antagonist would eventually fall into the pit that he had dug for his foe?

Yeah.. Life can be like that sometimes. Thankfully, we have protections: the Armor of God (“…and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭15‬ ‭KJV‬‬) and the Word of God (“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.” Psalm‬ ‭119‬:‭105‬ ‭KJV‬‬) which guides our path. The voice of God directing our every step (“…and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭21‬ ‭KJV‬‬).

We don’t have to fear the trap of the enemy.

Where we go wrong, where we end up with breaks in our armor, is through sin – unrepentant sin, allowing the enemy a foothold.

We must stay suited for the battle. And also understand that the battle is not ours, it’s truly the Lord’s.
