I read a sad, albeit true quote which said: Everything the world is doing the church is doing and trying to sanctify it.
Friends, this should not be.
We are called to be salt and light to the world. We are called to be a city on a hill. We are called to stand out. Stand apart. In the world, not of it.
I’ll be the first to admit that it is a long, often difficult and lonely journey. However, it is worth it.
What we must understand is that satan wants to rule man and get us to worship him in God’s face. He is the author of confusion. He is the father of all lies and deceit. Too many are falling victim to the trap.
We must go back to our First Love. We must get back to the basics. We need to get back to the Word of God, back to prayer, back to fasting, back to outreach and ministry. Time is so short.
There is an old hymnal I remember:
Take me back
Take me back, dear Lord
To the place
Where I first received You
Take me back
Where I first believed
