Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. John 4:6-7 KJV
I think we’re all familiar with the phrase, being at the right place at the right time. Or maybe the adverse, being in the wrong place at the wrong time…
For the Samaritan woman, at the well, it was as though she surely had a divine appointment.
While the disciples were away buying meat, Jesus, being wearied, sat down at the well, Jacob’s well, and it so happened to be the time where this woman of Samaria came to draw water.
What I love about this story is that she was in the right place, at the right time. It was as though she had a divine appointment with Jesus. He was away from the multitudes, and she had His undivided attention: an audience of One…
There were no distractions in this appointment. It was just her and Jesus.
In this divine appointment, her life was forever changed.
While there is a ton to unpack from this story.. My focus, for the sake of this post, is divine appointments. In these times that we live in, let’s not bypass, or ignore the moments where we have individual audiences with Jesus. This is where we are healed. This is where our lives, our situations, are changed. May our eyes and ears be open and aware, not distracted, to these precious moments when we have divine appointments with Jesus.
