Let’s Talk About Faith

Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. Hebrews 11:11 KJV

I’ve been in a season of waiting. While I’ve been here, I must say that God has been faithful. Just when I think He forgot about me, or I feel like giving up, He sends a word, a revelation – and I find the strength to continue.

I was reading, the other day about Sarah, in Genesis 16. She had received a promise, and like I have done many times in the past, she took matters into her own hands.

We all know the story: Hagar and Ishmael…

Still, when we read in Hebrews, the “champions of faith.” Sarah is listed.

In my despair, I wondered, How?! Like me, she took matters into her own hands. She likely felt abandoned by God. Like He had forgotten her. Forgotten His promise to her.

Ever been there before?

But, thankfully, Sarah wasn’t defined by her doubt or her mistakes. She’s still named as one who knew the faithfulness of God. As one who trusted His Word and promises.

It’s so simple, yet so profound.

We serve a God who is faithful. If He said it, it will come to pass. It doesn’t matter the circumstances. There is NOTHING impossible with God.

As Jesus said in Matthew 21:21-22 KJV:
Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
