He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:2-3 KJV
Do you always recognize when God is leading you beside the still waters?
I admit, I haven’t always realized it. I feel like, I have become so accustomed to the hustle and bustle and busyness of the world we live in, that even when I need the stillness, I’m in the stillness, I can find myself uncomfortable there.
How many times, has God led me beside the still waters, all for the purpose of restoring my soul, yet, I’ve miss it?
Regardless of what was, I’m more focused now on what is and what will be.
When He leads me beside the still waters, I don’t want to ignore it, or run to the next thing that will keep me busy or distracted. I want to allow God to do the work in me that He has planned.
The stillness isn’t a punishment. It’s a time to rest, a time for God to restore us, heal us, have His way in our lives.
