I was having a conversation with a friend who was nursing his broken heart. He said something to the effect of: Good women deserve to be treated well.
While I’m sure he meant nothing by this, the silent or implied part, in my head was: Does this mean that “bad women” deserve to be mistreated?
I didn’t say this, but it just made me think…
The thing is, Romans 5:8 highlights for us the fact that while we were sinners – while we were “bad,” if you will, Christ died for us.
Mark 10:18 tells us that there is none good, but One, God.
We judge what is “good” based off of our own standards and rarely do we measure our “goodness” off the Word of God.
This shouldn’t be.
Still, in all of His goodness and in all of our sin, God gives us the gift undeserved, grace. Rather than giving us what we deserve, He gives us mercy. And all of this is wrapped up in God’s great love and compassion for us.
