I never really considered it before. I took it as just one of those things people say…
Thing is, this year has been incredibly difficult. My family has been through so much since the year began.
Sitting out on my porch, talking to God, watching the cars pass, I realized that we live in a time where people don’t know their neighbors. It’s rare to check in with others to see how they are doing.
I remember a time where people showed up at the house to check on you when they hadn’t seen or heard from you in a while. People picked up the phone and called..
It’s rare these days. Sadly.
I want to love my neighbors/others, like Jesus.
I miss the times when we did life together. When we weren’t so busy that we couldn’t stop and say hello.
I, personally, want to do better. I will do better. I will love others like Jesus loves me.

On the Outside Looking In 
I miss those times, too. I remember the days before everyone had air-conditioning. On hot summer days, folks sat out on their front porches and talked with one another.
