Prince of the Power of the Air

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Ephesians 2:1-2 KJV

I’ve heard my entire life how the media has such a profound responsibility when delivering the news. I see that increasingly today. From the incorrectly dubbed Don’t Say Gay bill, to the miscommunicated reversal of Roe vs. Wade. I’ve already done a previous post on the Don’t Say Gay bill, so I won’t revisit that, however, regarding the reversal of Roe vs. Wade, technically, it is up to the individual states to decide their respective laws regarding abortion. There is no federal protection for abortion, the media has not chosen to accurately represent this information, sparking violent protests, outrage, chaos, even the threat of danger to lawmakers.

Understand, I am pro-life and do believe this is a step in the right direction.

Thankfully, in my state, the governor made it immediately illegal to have, and perform abortions. All who perform abortions, save for saving the life of a mother will receive 10 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 to up to $100,000 in a criminal felony case. I do not know the specifics of other states. I do know that abortion remains legal in 27 states in the United States. And of those 27 states, there were immediate protests once the media announced the “overturn” of Roe vs. Wade.

Really, my point of this post.. with the weighty responsibility of the media – every outlet, I don’t care if you consume ABC, CNN, FOX, NBC, etc… My prayer is that they would use their outlets for good and deliver the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth! Because, it matters. People hang onto the words of the media to determine every move they make, or so it seems. Rather than sowing seeds of discord, chaos, and unrest, my prayer and hope is that they would be beacons of light to point others to Jesus, the true light.

I mean, imagine the load that could be taken off the police and government officials.. We could totally all work together, especially in these trying times.

    1. A very wise decision. I had stopped watching the news a while back and started watching again only recently because of my job. It gave me a heads up on what was going on and the kids we’d be receiving. Not watching granted me a lot more peace, I cam honestly say.

  1. Sadly, the “media” is not necessarily interested in the truth. What they worship is ratings and advertising revenue.

It’s the same with social media. Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are free because the user is not the customer. The customers are the people who pay for advertising on these platforms.

Thankfully, God is love. And that’s the most important truth to know.

    1. Very true, David. Sad, but true. It honestly infuriates me. I went off of most social media a few years back, save for Instagram, I’m even questioning whether or not to remain there these days. As you said, thankfully, God is love and we are blessed to have that truth and His Word.

  2. Great post, Jessy. What lies ahead of us conservatives and Christians is a huge challenge. I get tired of saying this and hearing this, but God is still in control even if it looks bleak and hopeless. Whatever He speaks for us to do or to support, we should do it. I am thankful for you and all my blogging family. We stand together.
Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

    1. Thank you, always, for your support Mary. I tossed it around whether or not I should post this or not. I’m glad that I was obedient in the end. You are right, God is in control no matter how things look, we know He is in control and we know what the outcome will be. God bless you and your family. Have a wonderful weekend!
