What We Carry

I had a dream the other night that has stuck with me in the most peculiar way.. In my dream, I saw people, individuals that I hadn’t thought of in years! Each of them helped me pack my bags, for a trip, to who knows where!

I recall trying to organize my luggage. Some of it was in large chests, some in large suitcases, some smaller suitcases, some moving boxes of varying sizes.. But each person helped pack their own respective piece of luggage. For me.

Some helped me to organize it. Some even helped me to load it. The question that echoed in my mind was, Who’s going to help me unload all of this?

This dream has stuck with me. The thing is, in life, we sometimes carry baggage. We carry the loads of others. We carry what others have done to us. We carry what could have, should have, would have been. We carry regrets. We carry faults. We carry failures.

When we aren’t careful who is in out circle, sometimes, others help us pack away what was never meant to be carried.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28‭-‬30‬ ‭NLT‬‬
