Something to Live For

‭‭For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. Philippians 3:18-20 NLT‬‬

All too often, I encounter people who seem to live for this life only, as if they’ve forgotten about the hope of the life that is to come.

Pastors are teaching how to deal with the issues of the world today, rather than preparing churches for the spiritual battles we face. Rather than teaching churchgoers to cast our cares on God, because He cares for us.

We don’t have to deal with the issues. We have to learn when to stand. We have to learn when to fight. We have to remember that the battle belongs to God. We have to remember that Jesus Christ has already defeated the enemy. We have to be ready for the coming of Jesus Christ and know that our hope, our strength is in Him and Him alone.

We can’t live for this world. This world is not our home.

We have a hope. We have a future. Heaven is our home. Jesus Christ – His Holy Spirit is our Comfort, our protection, our peace.

In Christ, we have something to live for!
