Praise the Lord

Praise the Lord from the earth, you creatures of the ocean depths, fire and hail, snow and clouds, wind and weather that obey him, mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, wild animals and all livestock, small scurrying animals and birds, kings of the earth and all people, rulers and judges of the earth, young men and young women, old men and children. Let them all praise the name of the Lord. For his name is very great; his glory towers over the earth and heaven!Psalm 148:7-13 NLT

All of creation knows to praise God.

Except humans…

All of creation does exactly what God created it to do, when they’re supposed to… The winds, the rain, the grass, the trees, the animals, all obey God.

Yet, mankind can’t seem to figure it out.. We constantly go our own way.

I raise goats and chickens. You may have seen in my previous photos.. One thing that is particularly interesting is that, you don’t have to teach any of these creatures how to do anything or when to do it. They all know to bunk down in their shelters at night. The rooster knows when to crow. The hens lay eggs and roost. When the weather worsens, they know when to go into their coops/pens. The chicks seem to hatch at exactly the right time. They even help one another hatch.

You don’t have to teach an animal any of these things.

Why then, do we struggle to do what God created us to do?

It’s baffling to me that we struggle to acknowledge God. Many don’t even know Him or revere Him.

God created us to be in relationship with Him. Yet, there are those who deny God and seek “higher powers” or “powers within themselves.”

In all that we do, we must praise the Lord.

  1. “In all that we do, we must praise the Lord.”
Amen 🙏🏾. That’s the fruit of our lips!! And God just eats that up!😂

Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name (Heb 13:15)

  2. I enjoyed your post. I’ve had similar thoughts lately, “Lord, why do many in the world reject you?” It must be connected with the fall of man—back with Adam and Eve. We often choose to worship ourselves, rather than God, our loving creator. You’re right, wild animals rarely act against their own best interests and instincts, but humans do. Sad, but true. 🙏God, help us!
