Romans 1:28-32 KJV
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
I read this passage a few days ago and was greatly convicted.
I think the part that stood out the most to me was the last part: “…who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
I am sure most of us are aware of the sinfulness that surrounds Hollywood, celebrities, etc… Yet, how many take pleasure in their music, television shows, etc.. Worse yet, how many of us have friends, family, acquaintances – whom we know are in sin.. Yet, rather than allowing God to use us to share truth, we take pleasure in the conversations, the activities shared?
It’s like the old saying, If you know a building is on fire, why would you only save yourself?
It’s the same. When we know that sin is sin and it’s wrong. And sinners will be judged by God, according to His Word… How can we take pleasure in sin?
God forbid… God help us.
We talk about this new, upcoming generation being “different”. Yet, what are we doing to instill Truth in them? Are we being examples to show them what holy and separate living looks like?
Or are we teaching them, through what we allow into our homes via music, television, etc… that it’s okay… everything goes… love is love…
We have to take a stand. For the upcoming generation, for ourselves, for our families… We must declare what is that good and holy and acceptable perfect will of God. And we must stop taking pleasure in the B sins of this world.
